Walter Mazzarri made four changing to Napoli side. Morgan De Sanctis restored in goal, Hugo Campagnaro took his usual spot on the right on the defence line, Ilner brought in for the suspended Valon Behrami, and Insigne to replace Edinson Cavani, who also was out for one match ban. After a good start of Pescara, Napoli took control of the game and pushed the hosts in their own half. On 15′ Napoli took the lead, but the goal scored by Insigne was ruled out by the linesman, as Insigne was in offside. Napoli kept the pressure up and nearly found the lead with Marek Hamsik first and Lorenzo Insigne later, but Ivan Pelizzoli denied on both the occasions. Napoli then, went close to score on several occasion, but Pelizzoli always managed to foil Napoli attack. The second half couldn’t start any better for Napoli. The visitors found the lead with Gokhan Inler whose shot was from outside the box was deflected by a Pescara defender. The goal gave Napoli extra strength and the confidence to double the lead. Pescara, on the other hand, tried to find the equalizer and went very close on one occasion with Giuseppe Sculli, but De Sanctis denied. On the counter attack Napoli doubles the lead. Blerim Dzemaili gave a magnificent ball to Goran Pandev, who freed himself with a great first touch from Marco Capuano and scored his fourth goal in six matches. Napoli then tried to shut the match down passing the ball around to waste time. Substitute Pablo Armero went very close to score his first goal with Napoli, but his powerful shot was saved by Mattia Perin, who replaced Pelizzoli after he suffered a groin strain and couldn’t continue. On 82 minute Napoli scored the third goal. Insigne served Pablo Armero who then touched to Blerim Dzemaili whose shot left Perin stunned. With three goal lead, Napoli just passed the ball around until the final whistle. A comfortable win for Napoli against the last in the standing. Juventus had to postpone the celebration for the Scudetto by one week at least…
