With the championship almost over, the DS Bigon, with the scouting team is planning the future. It seems that Mazzarri will be Napoli’s manager next year too while we can’t say the same for Cavani. Bigon and his team are putting both plans ready: The Plan A is with Cavani still in the squad and the Plan B without Cavani. If Cavani stays, Bigon will have a budget of 40 million of Euro to reinforce the midfield and the defence. We believe the defence is where the majority of the investments is needed if Napoli wants to compete for the Scudetto next year especially after Campagnaro’s departure. Rolando had only few opportunity to show his skills and quite unlikely will be confirmed. Diakite’ was very close to sign his contract but the negotiation had been interrupted suddenly. Astori seems to be another name on Bigon’s list to reinforce the defence. For the midfield on Mazzarri’s wishlist there are the names of Nainggolan (Cagliari), Sandro (Tottenham) and Hernanes (Lazio) Another name on the list is Fernando (Gremio) but Mazzari is skeptical. With Cavani still leading the strikers, the DS will try to signing a decent sub to let the Matador rest when is needed. Floccari would be perfect for this role. The budget for the Plan B ( without Cavani) would be 100 millions of Euro the majority of which will be spent to reinforce the attackers. The names on Bigon’s list to replace Cavani are Damiao, but he will need to face stiff competition from Tottenham, Muriel (Udinese) who didn’t have a great season, Osvaldo (Roma) who’s Mazzarri’s favorite. We believe that would be very tough to replace Cavani, but Napoli will be competitive even in the case of his departure. Alexis Sanchez would be the Top Player to fill the gap that Cavani would leave, but he doesn’t seem to be willing to leave Barca. A player that would make everyone happy would be Jovetic but would be very difficult to negotiate with Fiorentina.
